The Robust Tech Stack Behind the Glass Wallet

Updated: Sep 13, 2023

The Glass Wallet truly puts citizens in control of their data. Having all your documents in a secure, and accessible place and being able to instantly present any document and have it authenticated without the need for third parties can be groundbreaking in expediting bureaucratic processes.

Built with the latest available tech stack, it ensures accessibility across all devices. The self sovereign data approach implemented, not only protects the citizens' data, but is built for scalability in terms of the different documents that can be issued, ensuring an easy integration with any existing service, and being blockchain based ensures all your data is always available to you, and to those you choose to share it with.

Wallet's stack:

  • Standard tech stack behind most front-end applications: JS, HTML, CSS

  • Ionic Framework – Cross Platform JS Build system

  • Capacitor – Fully integrated with Ionic, leverages all Native Apis on the mobile app, exposing them to the Glass Wallet

  • Stencil – Ionics Web Component Engine. Crucial for the Self Sovereign aspect of the Evidences

  • Hyperledger Fabric – Blockchain Implementation as chosen by the consortium

  • Gitlab CI – CI/CD engine used to build, test and deploy all components of the project when related to the Glass Wallet

  • OpenDSU – Blockchain agnostic framework
